alright, so i finished borderlands today!
i started as a level 1 siren & at first i wasn't too crazy about her specials & whatnot. i always liked how the berserker would just snap & punch & scream at everything. haha. however, after playing for a while & learning about all the class mods & shit, the siren character actually ended up being a ton of fun.
for those of you who haven't played yet, haven't heard of it, or are interested but unsure about this game, i'll try to sum it up a bit from my perspective, at least. if you liked fallout 3, you'll probably like this.
the big thing about this game is the gun generator that they have come up with. basically, it can generate any kind of gun & you can randomly find it either after killing enemies, bosses, or just finding them in boxes. for example, you can have a rocket launcher with a sniper scope & on top of that, the gun can have static, fire, corrosion or other powers to go along with the general damage of the weapon. with this game i realized that the more you play, the more fun the game gets. it doesn't get too repetitive (except for those fucking spiders) & the better the gun gets, the more eager you are to continue.
also, i think this game is more fun to play with a group of at least two or more people. playing alone is kind of boring. i'm not crazy about the car/driving parts.
ah, to conclude....this is definitely a sleeper hit! i LOVED this game & i think everyone should give it a chance!
for those of you that have played, how did you like it? the pros? the cons?

Ok, I literally just heard this on "Mad Men" and it's at the very end of the ep. The singer sounds *a lot* like Roy Orbison -- it might actually *be him -- and the chorus of the song sounds like "Cha-ta-ruba". Anyone?

Hello good friends,
I have a question regarding meds. I take .5mgs of Xanax per day and over the last several days I have been more prone to anxiety attacks. I get the real fun ones that usually make me throw up afterwards.
Anyway, my question is: Should I ask my dr or therapist for a stronger dose? I got the original rx from my reg dr but that was because I started the meds before therapy. Can a therapist prescribe the anti-anxiety and anti-depressants?
What meds do you guys take? Do they help?
I just want to be able to get out of this fog I feel I have been trapped in for the last few days.
And once again, thank you all so much for your support. It makes it so much easier to understand what I am going through and makes me not feel so alone.

Ok, this is a bit of a difficult one, possibly.
There was an advert for something or other, where there's a girl in a dark part of town and she has to follow the light or something. The song with it goes something like, "I could be your alice, in your wonderland."
It was shown both on TV and in the cinema, but I can't find the song nor the advert. I know it's vague but it's all I can remember. Any idea? |

| Story from the Arabian Nights |

I read or heard this story when I was probably about eight years old and so I don't remember it all that well. I'm pretty certain I didn't dream this up, but I've had no luck finding it, and none of the titles and outlines for the stories sound like the one I heard. It's been bugging me for years, so I hope you guys can help. ^^ I believe it concerned a group of travelers who happen upon a palace, and going inside discover that the place has been abandoned. Eventually they learn that the palace's population have all died and been taxidermied and posed around the premises. The one body I remember best was a beautiful woman in fine clothes with jewels for eyes. She was surrounded by four (?) taxidermied slaves carrying swords, who had been set up as a booby trap. I believe one of the party members got to close to them and ended up getting his head cut off. I think somehow the dead woman talks to the adventurers, though how this was accomplished I don't know. They ended up continue their exploration of the palace, but I don't remember anything more than this snippet.

Does anyone here ever feel like they can't talk about what's going on with their mental health issues because it just sounds so effing melodramatic?
Our feelings are real and they should not be trivialised, but there is something so lame about saying, "Oh I'm so depressed today."
It's all part of the vicious cycle... |

Hi everyone. I am new to the community and to LJ.
I am suffering from depression and severe anxiety. I was reluctant at first to admit that I had a problem, and didn't really see that I was slipping into my present state... But now I am seeing a psychiatrist and am taking some medication, which has been helping to stabilise my moods. Now I have to work through the underlying causes of my condition, which is why I joined LJ. Looking for a sangha/support group of sorts.

I'm looking for an animated gif. I saw it in a community, but couldn't save it because I was on my phone and now I can't find it again.
It's black and white, and has Megan Fox in it. She says "Fuck them" or something similar and the words appear on the macro as well. There may be some other text too, but I don't remember.

I really don't get it. When I watch my boyfriend play SF4 or HD Remix online when he has the upper hand BAM the person DC's and for what? To keep your points?!? If you are going to lose face it up and dont DC. Also a few times he has received messages from said people telling him that he cheats blah blah blah *beep*beep*beep*beep*
Its like ZOMG GET OVER YOURSELF ITS JUST A GAME!
I am just tying to understand people sometimes and why they think its SUPER important to DC rather than just face the facts someone beats you get over it. So I ask you ladies and gentleman have you experienced something like this before. Either on Xbox 360 or PS3?

It's been driving me nuts today. There was a kids tv show with puppets - I think it was set in Yorkshire, possibly in the dales or something. They all had chubby cheeks and little sticky out ears and one of the male puppets wore a wool hat (possibly green) and a knitted sweater and was a bit daft.

I usually take one 0.5 mg of klonopin first thing in the morning. About an hour later I take two 20 mg of Prozac. This morning I may have taken a klonopin at my normal time & another an hour later instead of my Prozac. But if I did take my Prozac I don't want to take another does. I take these meds every morning & the a klonopin 2 more times through out the day. I was good for awhile but lately I've been almost forgetting to take my afternoon klonopin or forgetting if I took one of my meds at all. I would get one of those weekly pill containers but if for some reason a cop pulls me over, in some states it's against the law to carry your meds in any container other then the prescription bottle. I normally take a total of 40mg of Prozac in the morning, but if I really did miss the dose, is it ok for one day? I just don't want to double dose either. Thanx for any help. |

Comics legend LEN WEIN (creator of Wolverine, Swamp Thing and editor of the original Watchmen comic series) will be appearing at the Seattle Center Comic Con today from 10am till 5pm today, Sunday November 8th. Admission is $5, $5 with a can of food for Northwest Harvest, Children 5 and under are free, blah blah spammity-blah...
If you have to choose just one geeky thing to do today (And there are a few Geeky things to do in the Greater Seattle Area today), I strongly suggest THIS EVENT over any of the others. Why?
CHEAP! $5 to get in! Dealers motivated to unload some product so they don't have to lug it back home in the rain!
INTIMATE! When else are you going to have a chance to meet WOLVERINE'S DADDY at a convention with notoriously low attendance? As a dealer at these shows over the past few years, I don't think I've ever seen more than 200 people come through the doors over the course of the entire day. It's more like a local Farmer's Market r Swap Meet than a comic book convention!

I'm looking for a stargate SG-1 episode. It's pre-Ben Browder, and I'm pretty sure but not 100% sure that Daniel's in the episode (so not season 6). I read through the summaries on IMDB (which are awful, btw!) and wikipedia and didn't see anything that sounded like what I remembered. SG-1 are captured, or at least Jack and Sam and maybe also Daniel and Teal'c are captured, and kept in an underground or cave prison (but I'm pretty sure it's not "Beneath the Surface.") I *think* the prison is run by Goa'uld. Individual members of the team get dragged off and tortured - I particularly remember Jack being taken (but it's not "Abyss"). He hugs Sam at some point, I think, or they have otherwise affectionate times.
It's really driving me nuts! I've read all the summaries! I just want to rewatch this one episode! Sigh.
